Oxford 2nd vaccine under 30 years?

I'm under 30 had my first covid vaccine in March (had a text & booked due to being group 6). Should I still be going ahead and having a second one ? 🥴🥴.

Also, it'll have been 11 weeks since I had it next week and I've heard nothing about getting 2nd dose

Yes you should still go ahead. If you had your firsty through a gp hub they will contact you, but if you're concerned give them a ring.

I've had my text now but worried as there seems to be more and more cases of clots

I think the evidence is that the vast majority of the clotting events are after the first vaccine, though I may be wrong . This makes sense to me as I imagine it is something very rare about a person's health and genetic make up that predisposes them to the the clotting reaction .

If it hasn't happened when you got the first vaccine, I think they are thinking it is even less likely to happen on a second vaccine.

The people taking the highest risk ( albeit a tiny tiny risk) are the ones having the first shot as we don't know what the risk factors are. Hence the caution for those under 30 where the balance of risk of Covid Vs the vaccine is finely balanced and who we don't know if they have a predisposition to react to the vaccine in this way.

As someone who has safely had the first shot, it is clear you don't have this reaction to it. I think the fact that you had the vaccine and it was fine is evidence or even proof that you are not going to get this reaction.
