Delaying the jab because of a cold!..

Hi there, just wondering if anyone can clarify for me...
My mum has her second jab in 2 weeks. All the grandchildren are currently full of colds so my mum has announced she's going tk have to delay her jab now because she will most likely get the cold and you aren't allowed the jab if you've had a cold within the month prior. Is this actually true?? I feel like she may have misunderstood something because that sounds rather drastic!
Thank you!

No she's mistaken. You can have the jab if you have a cold or a mild illness.

You cant have it if you've got COVID symptoms or had a positive covid test.

You are advised to delay the jab if you have a high temperature (and should book a COVID test).

If you have a cold you can get the vaccine, but if you don’t want to pass it on/don’t feel up to potential vaccine side effects you could postpone it a week.

If you have had COVID you are advised to wait 28 days before vaccine.

Ideally she would try to stick to interval advised.

This is on the AstraZeneca information leaflet.

'However, a mild fever or infection, like a cold, are not reasons to delay vaccination'.
