Attending Mass after shielding

I've been shielded until that ended and have now had two vaccines and would like to start going back to church. I'm still supposed to be "extra careful" so I'm not sure how attending Mass would fit in with that. Our church is normally packed and I've no idea what things are like there now or even if Mass is happening. Has anyone been in a similar position who could advise me?

Depends on where you live, but in England churches have to have social distancing so it won't be packed, we ask people to book and when we get to 45 that's it, no more (pre pandemic we sat 410!). You must mask, sit with only your household and there's no wine just wafers. No singing either

I'm in England, I should have said, sorry. Thank you, that's helpful. I don't take communion as it freaks me out on several levels. That's sad about the singing as that's my favourite part of Mass.

Email your parish priest - they'll be able to tell you what is happening in your church.

Any particular reason you've not been attending online (your own church or cathedral)?

Online is not the same, but it might be a useful interim step as you could follow a Mass that way but attend in person for a quieter service such as an evensong

Our church is still doing 2m distancing with some of the pews closed off and marked out places to sit on the others, masks, a shorter Mass with no singing that ends right after Communion. Limited numbers because of the distancing.

Ours has every other pew roped off and one household per pew up to a limit of 30. There’s no singing and everyone is wearing masks. The door’s are left open for ventilation.

I’m CV rather than CEV and I’d be quite comfortable going back given I’m fully vaccinated. But I’d check with your church as the guidance will be being interpreted differently by different churches.
