It seems infection rates are now quite low.

My anxiety and panic attacks have gone through the roof since the mask mandate came into place. I've never been in a shop/public indoor place for 10 months now. Its not living anymore, just existing. I detest the things with a passion and what they have done to me. For some people its not a simple thing to do. Its almost like some sort of phobia. And I am also sick to the back teeth of being told it's not about me but that I have to protect the vulnerable. Sorry, but if you are vulnerable maybe you should try and stay at home for 10 months. I've had enough now! I have a 'vulnerable' neighbour who is living her best life, out to shops everyday, out for lunches, etc. while I have had my life restricted so much because of damned masks. I'm stuck at home everyday. It's time to look out for ourselves. Wear a mask if it makes you feel safe, but we should have the option. I'd rather be mask free and social distance than be in close proximity to a group of mask wearers. I too have cancelled dentist appointments, eye tests because of them. DH gets the shopping, goes to the bank etc for me, all my independence has gone now. I manage to get my hair cut with just me and my hairdresser in the room, and yet my mouth still gets hair in it. I'm sure virus particles are smaller than a piece of hair!

@Katie517

I’m not wearing one after June 21st. They are a box ticking exercise that serve no purpose and I’m sick of my baby not being able to see people smile and growing up thinking having faces covered is normal.

Pieces of loose dirty cloth across your face is doing absolutely nothing to stop transmission, just look at states in the US with mask mandates vs. ones without and that tells you all you need to know.

Also preventing colds and other germs will be harmful in the long term when our immune systems have forgotten how to work.

Do you genuinely think that in states where the mask mandate has been lifted, people have just stopped wearing masks? Do you personally know anyone in those states? I have close family who live in Texas and they still wear masks in shops etc and think their governor is a fool. This argument is stale and tired.

From what you've said, you're definitely exempt. Although as an exempt person myself, going into public places without a mask is pretty stressful thanks to the nasty, judgemental and sometimes violent people I've encountered over the past year, so I can totally understand why you'd rather just avoid being in that situation full stop.

@Againstmachine

Entitled, babyish yet again people don't agree with you call them names.

Masks aren't normal people dont want to wear them and cases are so low you shouldn't have to.

The true selfish are the people like you who want everyone to submit to their whims.

Imagine how people are going to look back on comments like this. I'd be so embarrassed.
DancesWithTortoises · 06/05/2021 10:05

That type is never embarrassed, sadly.

Againstmachine · 06/05/2021 19:46

I have wore masks throughout but hey if it make you feel ok .
