18-30 year olds called for vaccine. Teenagers next?

18-30 year olds are being called for first vaccines in our area now (north Wales). Does anyone know if teenagers will be called next and which vaccine will be used?

Is this because they have directed the Moderna and Pfizer supply there, I wonder?

I'm 38 living in London and having to take public transport and no sign of vaccine for me. Sad

Agree with what you’re saying but I’m hoping that once all adults are vaccinated any cases in schools will become far less common as it just won’t be able to spread as quickly. And eventually a case in school won’t mean everyone sent home.

Yes I also think it would just be the positive child that will need to isolate (similar to chicken pox or D&V) and not contacts soon

This pisses me off. Age 49 scotland and no sign of a vaccine. Teenagers at school, husband out working as a key worker, older children out working as keyworkers and still can't get a jab.

Friend of mine is 46 and got called a while back as a cancellation, she has her second one a week on Saturday.
That's also Scotland.

it is infuriating isn't it.?

Two sixteen year olds and 19 year old. All vaccinated. Luck of the draw.

If it’s Betsi Cadwaladr, they haven’t done the 30-40’s yet. They went straight from 40+ to 18-30. That means there are loads of key workers still unvaccinated.

FontyMcFontface · 29/04/2021 16:48

38yo dsis is teaching in North Wales and still unvaccinated.

Do you think it's possibly to do with vaccine supply? Maybe they have moderna or Pfizer that can only be used on that age group, it does seem strange to miss out the 30-40s who are most likely to be working and have school aged children
Moondust001 · 29/04/2021 16:55

@Totalbeach

It's not licensed for teenagers and even if they were, most people would refuse since Covid doesn't really affect kids.
It may have a very low risk for children, but it is patent stupidity to say that it doesn't affect them. Children have become seriously ill and died. In smaller numbers yes. I am sure that being amongst a small number is a tremendous comfort for the families of those affected. And children can transmit the virus, even whilst at lower risk.

I'm in Scotland, CV but not CEV - get my second Pfizer next week. That's four weeks earlier than expected.
