Negative antibody test after Covid and vaccine.

I was asked to do a home antibody test by Uk Biobank which was negative. I had a positive test for Covid in January and my first vaccine in February with my second vaccine due on Friday.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this and should I be worried.

Thanks

I had covid in December & also got invited for an antibody test in Jan (6 weeks later). No antibodies 🤷🏼‍♀️😩 I def had covid, I lost my sense of taste & smell completely. Was pretty mild though all things considered.

No vaccine here so not sure about that.. I think the vaccine is a differing type of antibody response, possibly they weren’t testing for that 🤷🏼‍♀️

Immunity is not just about antibodies. T-cells are hugely important and longer lasting (17 years and counting for SARS). The test for this is more expensive and difficult though.

Especially if you had a mild case.

I tested positive in September but only a mild sore throat off and on, first jab in January and tested negative for antibodies 3 weeks back.

I'm not worried as I seem to be one of the lucky ones who doesn't get much in the way of symptoms for Covid.

I'm more kind of curious. I am hoping they send me another test now I've had my second jab. I want to know what my body is up to.

I guess the results will be out in a few months so we will see how common it is then.

Me! Some of us dont make antibodies. 🤷‍♀️ Good news is that we do get t cell immunity so even if you catch COVID again (I've had it twice) it's likely to be mild.

Thanks for all that information. I guess I can stop worrying now and go for my second jab tomorrow!
