We've just had to self isolate as the 10 year old tested positive. No why would I be isolating the whole household if what we had wasn't covid so if anyone had symptoms we'd be getting a test.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 20/04/2021 08:43

Sweden ran out of icu beds and had to ship a lot of their patients to Norway who had spare capacity because they had much less covid.

Texas & Florida healthcare had similar issues in some areas and massive undercounting of Covid deaths there is pretty much accepted.

None of those are great examples tbh.

rosie39forever · 20/04/2021 09:00

If our household isolated for every random symptom , we’d never leave the house. If any of us have symptoms we get tested, if it’s positive we isolate if it’s negative we crack on, I thought that this was what we are supposed to do🤔

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 20/04/2021 09:04

I thought you could easily get it more than once. There was some study out the other day about young people and teinfection.

I swear the Brazilian one offers no immunity.

addictedtotheflats · 20/04/2021 09:06

You could still get covid post covid and vaccine, its unlikely but possible. Having had the vaccine you should get milder symptoms and avoid a hospital admission which might have been the case if you hadnt had either. Hope you feel better soon

SirVixofVixHall · 20/04/2021 09:24

It does seem possible, but chances are higher that it is something else. I hope so OP.

nailsathome · 20/04/2021 17:38

We're still recovering 5 weeks on from a dreadful virus with all COVID symptoms but negative tests. Maybe a new variant or just a nasty virus, who knows.

Queenie6655 · 20/04/2021 18:09

I'm trying to get back into bed
Low in vitamin b
Got my bloods checked last week

Maybe this is why I'm so tired?

@JenerationH I should point out that I'm coming from a perspective that lockdowns do very little to stop the spread (see Sweden, Florida, Texas) and cause massive harms

To what then do you attribute the reduction in cases and, since you’re sceptical about the value of testing, hospitalisations and deaths? If lockdown hasn’t stopped the spread, what has? Bearing in mind that numbers started dropping before significant numbers of people had been vaccinated.

If you are low in B12 then take huge amounts. You can't take to much as excess passes in urine. The UK 'normal' threshold (180 ish) is much lower than some other countries and you can still experience symptoms of deficiency up to about 500 . DD is one of those.
Queenie6655 · 21/04/2021 14:48

@TheTeenageYears thank you for that
This has never happened before
Wonder if it is a side effect of covid ?
