We have and it’s been amazing. Left home on Monday, English seaside village, the sun has shone, the kids have enjoyed some sea air and we’ve supported local businesses down here. People still being sensible mostly with mask wearing and it hasn’t been crazily busy. We debated and debated coming, but are so glad we did. Anyone else?

IME UK holidays are OK if the weather is good, and family enjoy the outdoors.

We've had some lovely Easter holidays in the UK, we went to west Wales for years and loved it, somehow always got great weather and Easter in Wales is fairly reasonable price wise. For some reason summer holiday trips are less reliable, weather too hot or it rains and the cost of August accommodation is ridiculous.

Really glad you had a good time, in the sunshine you can't beat a British beach.

We are on holiday in York in our touring caravan, lovely and sunny, we pre booked National Trust and been to York shops and wander round and saw DS the other day there, he lives quite near here so that was nice. We are here for a few days more and weather continuing good.

I'm on holiday now. It's been lovely. We're somewhere with lots of outdoor things to do, and the weather has been lovely. Two other trips away in the UK already booked for later in the year, hoping they'll go ahead as planned.

I’ve had 5 nights at our caravan and it feels more normal than anything else this last year
Mon drinks at pub
Tuesday bird of prey centre
Wednesday shopping in tkmaxx, primark , meeting up with dil in her house
Thursday york for the day
Friday Helmsley market , more shopping and lunch at a cafe
Aided and abetted by full on sun

Home today, repack tomorrow for country break. About 20 going.
Cant wait

@LovingBob
Been Great hasn’t it.
Can well recommend duncombe park bird of prey centre. No in your / on your face masks or people barking orders
Saw two wild red kites circling while the eagle was flying and loads of dozy pheasants dead and alive as they breed them in this area

York was good. Staff just pleased to have us back I think.
Even a bit of music on the streets.

I had a staycation recently. I stayed in my room and did zero housework or childcaring or anything. It was glorious.

BonnieDundee · 17/04/2021 17:35

I just had a week off. Lots of drinking wine & reading in the garden, late night TV, sleeping in & take aways. That's my idea of a staycation

That's my idea of heaven Grin

Yes, we had our first proper trip in our camper, two nights in the forest of dean, lovely walks with the dog, visit to a petting zoo and lots of time with Grandma.

Oh my, the absolute dicks on this thread.

Staycation is a pretty recent word and it’s fine to understand it as a UK holiday and anyway who tf feels the need to comment.

Excitingly we are going on a staycation in two weekend’s time. I am living for it. Change of scene, change of air.

We've been staying near Woolacombe for the past few days. It's been amazing, so sunny all the time we've been here. We're walking distance to a stunning beach, my relative who I've not seen in over a year came up and sat on the beach all day with us yesterday.

If I could guarantee weather like this for every Uk, I'd never book abroad again
