I’ve got mastitis, spoken to dr and given antibiotics which I started yesterday. It became awful in the evening as I had horrendous chills and my temp reached 38.2
I’ve woken up feeling a lot better, temp is back to normal and chills are gone just a lot of pain in the affected breast is all that’s left.

Can I send my older kids to school today?

Yes absolutely

PotteringAlong · 15/04/2021 06:43

Yes!

MRex · 15/04/2021 06:47

Yes, you know it was mastitis so don't make life harder than necessary. I hope your boob feels better soon too.

My DD had her one year jabs this week & got a fever within 24 hours of them. Nursery said we were completely fine to send her as we knew the cause 👍🏻 (this is after her fever had gone, I didn’t send her in with one as she was miserable!)

FallingStar · 15/04/2021 12:07

Definitely! Hope you feel better soon Flowers

TheGriffle · 15/04/2021 12:08

I would. Other causes of fevers are still around and you have an infection which causes fevers. I would not worry one jot about sending them in.

BogRollBOGOF · 15/04/2021 12:18

They're not going to spread mastitis around their classmates. It's a very distinct illness, and not contagious.

I hope you feel better quickly, it's a miserable infection. Flowers

Yes of course. I am a teacher and in the autumn term I had an infected insect bite that required antibiotic treatment. It was quite a nasty infection and I had a slightly raised temperature for a few days. I was still able to attend work as the temperature had a known cause and I had no other Covid symptoms.

FlyingBurrito · 15/04/2021 13:21

Admittedly I don't have a thermometer so wouldn't know my temperature but it honestly wouldn't ever have occured to me that this would even be something I needed to consider.

Thanks all, he went and I’m feeling a bit better. It was actually my sons second day in school so all new to me!
