Can you get an antibody test?

I've had both of my jabs - last one at the end of March. Is there a way to find out if you have developed antibodies, or is it just a case of fingers crossed?

You can pay to have a private blood test which will show your level of antibodies. There is a private clinic near us that does this for £138.

I've used these guys a few times. Always very good and quick results.

Thank you - I've ordered one. Hopefully that'll stop me thinking that I'm one of the 5% that the vaccine doesn't work on!

That one only shows if you’ve been exposed to the natural virus though and developed antibodies that way. It won’t show if you’ve created antibodies through the vaccine.

ZoomDoc do one for £59 which detects vaccine induced antibodies.
I have had tests done as part of research and was negative 6 weeks after first dose but positive ten weeks after. My test didn't say how many antibodies though, it justs gives + or - for infection (N) antibodies and vaccine (S) abs.
I did ask my Rheumatologist after my negative result but he wasn't helpful. No-one seems to know how many antibodies you need, plus there are other things at work besides antibodies.
I found this interesting - about the response in people with inflammatory disease.

As always, it's the more expensive one that shows immunity created from the vaccine! Grin Worth it, if it puts my mind at rest!

BioCard do an antibody test that is specific for the spike protein of COV-SARS-2. It will detect whether you have had Covid naturally or have antibodies from the vaccine.

My DP had Covid mildly last July and the test showed he had low levels of antibodies in February. He re-tested for antibodies just before his first AZ jab a couple of weeks ago, and was negative for antibodies. Two weeks later he had another antibody test and it shows raised antibodies again, now to a higher level than the test in February. That's after 2 weeks, we presume those antibodies will increase further, and then again after the second jab.

It does

"This test measures the immune response following both vaccination and natural infection."

My results came back as 250 - over 0.8 is positive for immunity.

The test was pretty uncomplicated, and the response was very prompt.

Thank you for the link @wlshawlwishs
