“ We have shown that the inhaled glucocorticoid budesonide, given for a short duration, might be an effective treatment of early COVID-19 in adults. This effect, with a relative reduction of 91% of clinical deterioration is equivalent to the efficacy seen after the use of COVID-19 vaccines14 and greater than that reported in any treatments used in hospitalised patients and patients with severe COVID-19.”

I take a steroid inhaler, I had Covid, in hospital but only on oxygen for 5 days, discharged after 6.
Anecdotally it has been suggested for some time that steroidal inhalers offer some protection to Covid sufferers.

@6thFormCircleofHell thats the one that they used, the study was done by astrazenica that makes an inhaler with it in, possibly symbicort they make?

They also didn't include people already on inhaled steroids in the study.

My daughter had covid and followed her asthma plan and doubled her flutiform to 8 puffs a day. Did it help? Who knows, I don't know how bad it would have got if she hadn't done that. She's still struggling a bit with her asthma, but thats normal after a virus. I'm on duoresp and didn't catch it, neither did her sister on qvar but neither did dh without asthma.
