How do I speed up reporting lateral flow test results?

We are diligently doing twice-weekly lateral flow tests and I'm finding reporting the results irritatingly repetitive.

Three people have now told me that I need to create a login, so that I don't have to re-enter all the details every time. But I can't see anywhere you can do that.

What am I missing?! I'm using www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result

On the 3rd page of your link it gives you the option to create an account.

AChickenCalledDaal · 09/04/2021 22:26

BINGO! Thank you. I was still confused, but having now focussed on page 3 and pressed buttons that I hadn't pressed before, I discover that option only appears if you are reporting a result for yourself ... which up to now I haven't been doing.

The people who have been telling me are all teachers, so they will have seen it when reporting their own result.

How ridiculous. But thank you for putting me out of my misery!

Glad you are now sorted. It does take a while to enter all the info so hopefully this will speed things up for you.

Yes I’ve created an account for myself but when I’m reporting my daughter’s I have to put all her details in every time. So annoying when it’s things like nhs number which I have to look up each time and having to put the email address in twice to “confirm” it. Grrr.

JanFebAnyMonth · 09/04/2021 23:13

You can opt not to enter the NHS number. I also don’t enter an email address (for the DC) just a mobile number . It is a faff it would have been good to have “child accounts”.

KihoBebiluPute · 09/04/2021 23:13

If you report for other members of the household it is best to create an account for each individual. If you are reporting for someone else it won't remember any of the details.

How old is your dd?

If secondary school, assuming that's why she's doing twice weekly testing, does she not have her own email address? Even if it's a school one? Use that to create an account for her then just say you're reporting for yourself using her account. No one us going to come round and check who is actually inputting the info. This is assuming there is a reason she can't do it herself, or needs help doing it.

For the NHS number, it's fine to just say you don't know it, if you don't have it to hand, I can't imagine many people do.

JustMeAndWheatley · 09/04/2021 23:27

I skip the NHS number and say I don’t an email address.

JanFebAnyMonth · 09/04/2021 23:50

Ah didn’t realise we could create accounts for the DC, good idea!

ramonaquimby · 09/04/2021 23:53

Why can’t your kids report their own test results? One less thing for you to do!

Watsername · 10/04/2021 13:37

My kids report their own results.

AChickenCalledDaal · 10/04/2021 17:02

I will create an account in her name now that the mystery has been solved. And yes she's perfectly capable of reporting her own, but she's also very stressed, dealing with school anxiety and struggles with organisation (ADD). So the moment I'm happy to log her results if it helps her have the headspace to deal with more important issues.

And I !
