Just wondering how this will work when the time comes and they'll be called. I'm guessing June/July, when they'll be back home.
We live in Wales and use NHS Wales. My 3 students all at 3 different English universities using NHS England where they are registered with local GPS (all staying registered as using the same GPS next year). All 3 coming home for summer.
How will they get their vaccines?
Letterswill go to their uni accommodation. Text invites will be for in their uni towns.
I asked about booking them in as temp residents when at my surgery last week and was told that temp resident status won't generate a vaccine invite ( the same as it wouldn't generate other routine call ups, such as smears etc) only mean they can access routine/emergency health care for health conditions.
Can the routine booking online thing be done for cross nation patients??
We've experienced first hand funding issues between NHS England and NHS Wales in the past when we moved from England to Wales and treatments were put before a board for funding approval before being allowed to access services (I know, bizarre because you xan attend A^E without issues in emergencies), so just wondering how this will smooth out in reality. It must be affecting many students who will be temporarily home for 6 to
12 weeks over the summer but attend uni in a different UK country with differing vaccine roll outs.
Has this been covered anywhere?
