I’ve struggled so much with anxiety.

I’m back at work (in the office) and my son is at nursery.
It took a lot to get me here and I was considering quitting my job because of Covid.

I was vaccinated 4 weeks ago and I have started to feel so much better.

I’ve even been to the supermarket (which I hadn’t done for over a year) and I now have a support bubble with my mum (who is also vaccinated)

I’ve only been back at work 2 weeks but I can already feel it making a positive difference to my mental health.

However, the last few days I cannot stop thinking about the blood clot link with the Oxford vaccine.
(I’ve had the Oxford vaccine)

I breastfeed my son and I’m now convincing myself something is going to happen to him because of me having the vaccine.

My thoughts are really taking over and I can’t stop worrying that the vaccine is going to cause long term side effects.
What if in a years time we all die or become severely ill from being vaccinated. 😭

I feel like I’ve been injected with poison and I want to get it out of my body.

I’m already having CBT and I’m taking Sertraline, but I cannot stop these repetitive thoughts and they are really frightening me.

I’m so afraid of death 😭

Agreeing obviously with PP are reassurance. @fireflylanegirls can you make sure you speak to your immediate network to not get sucked into reassuring you about whatever the anxiety has attached itself to? On a forum unfortunately various people will come and take at face value and reassure which feeds the cycle.

A close friend of mine has recently been struggling lots with intense anxiety. I’ve supported him with speaking to GP, seeking CBT which he’s now started, meeting him for walks and chats and regular catch ups and making sure he hangs in there through all these bouts. But there is one thing I have not done - he and I never get into discussing and reassuring whatever specific matter the anxiety is latched on to. We both know that feeds the cycle. Can you find a few similar people in your life who will support you in ways which do NOT involve getting into reassurance about X or Y or Z that you are anxious about?

If you're going to have an adverse effect due to a vaccine, it happens in the short term. You really don't need to worry about potentially getting ill in the future for you or your DC.

A very small proportion of people have had CVSTs linked to the vaccine (not yet proven that it was directly caused by it)- but these events happened shortly after vaccination. You are way past the window of these potentially happening to you.

You have had lots of good advice re the anxiety but I agree with pp about contacting your GP with a view to upping your dosage, 4-6 weeks is quite standard between increases so worth seeing if a higher dose helps.

I wonder how helpful this board on MN is for you OP? Taking on board what PP said regarding reassurance might it be better to be on a more general bored and focus on the anxiety aspect rather than the covid aspect. I am pleased to see you are finding it positive to be back in the office.
