Has anyone noticed changes in their periods after getting the vaccine?

Hearing that some women have noticed changes in their period after getting any of the available vaccines and I'm a bit worried. Not great news when TTC, but then again I'm a bit worried about getting it during pregnancy. Seeing if any of you have noticed menstrual changes at all?

Nope - bang on time as usual

EasterIssland · 05/04/2021 22:57

Not myself
There have been some threads in mn for both vaccines where people have reported them though

Secrethidingplace · 05/04/2021 23:59

Had the AZ vaccine and was a week early

gaggiagirl · 06/04/2021 00:05

Yes. I saw this on our NHS trust staff Facebook page too. I've had irregular bleeding since the vaccine (Pfizer). Of course it could be coincidental timing and nothing to do with it and just a new shitty thing my body has decided to throw at me.

PandemicAtTheDisco · 06/04/2021 00:07

Mines been a week early and much lighter than normal.

daisydalrymple · 06/04/2021 00:08

Not had the vaccine yet, but my periods have stopped since having COVID at Christmas, and I’ve read it can affect your cycles. However, I’m 49, so it could be purely coincidental as I’m obviously at the end of periods age, but would be a lucky menopause if so, as no peri symptoms to speak of.

greenlynx · 06/04/2021 00:08

I had AZ, end of February. I missed my period in March but it could easily be menopause in my case.

Elouera · 06/04/2021 00:09

I had AZ, also TTC and no changes noticed.

2boysand1princess · 06/04/2021 00:12

Week early (Pfizer) also very light. However, returned to normal after that. Had 3 normal periods since.

FriedMushrooom · 06/04/2021 00:13

Watching this thread as interested to know

ASugarr · 06/04/2021 00:15

Not personally no, however I'm due to have mine shortly so I'll update you if I do. I'm fully vaccinated now so if there are changes to come I should see them shortly.

beebeabee · 06/04/2021 00:19

Not enough cycles between the vaccine and now to tell .. and the over 50s who were on the role for a while now are not going to testify I guess..so I'll say give it a bit more time?

TrickyBiscuits · 06/04/2021 00:20

Yes. Had mine last week, now 4 days late. Keeps threatening to start with a tiny bit of spotting then nothing at all. Very unusual for me, cycle always like clockwork and normally starts with a bang! Am 39.

BrawTime · 06/04/2021 00:24

I had the vaccine this month and my period was a week early! Had no idea this could be related, I’m always like clockwork

BrawTime · 06/04/2021 00:28

Last month even, it’s April now I keep forgetting that 😳

mrsmacmc · 06/04/2021 00:36

Yep! AZ, I had 11 day 🩸 when I'm normally 5, haven't ovulated yet (I use OPK tests) and on CD18. Normally clockwork cycles 🧐 shall see what happens as due to reset next Tuesday.

Rachellow · 06/04/2021 00:47

Had the AZ in Feb and have been fine

Beepbopadooda · 06/04/2021 00:50

Mine was over a week late. I had AZ and was on my period at the time. I'm 31 and normally v regular cycles.

WildRunner · 06/04/2021 00:56

I've not had the vaccine and mine have been all over the place. Make of that what you will...

RainySaturday · 06/04/2021 00:57

I've had spotting for about 3 weeks now which is just about when I had the vaccine. Getting a bit fed up of it. I'm mid 50's so I'm not so regular, but not had this daily bleeding before.

OpheliasCrayon · 06/04/2021 05:49

Immune changes can affect your period. I take immunosuppressants and steroids and at the start of taking somethng new or a new course of steroids my immune system goes haywire and I have a few irregular months.

A vaccine would do the similar as it kick starts r
Your immune system to react to the new virus so I would guess cycle changes are normal. Temporary though.... Not permanent!

LovingBob · 06/04/2021 06:32

Could it be that some are very sensitive to change, I haven't had periods for years as over 60 so cannot tell with the vaccine but when I was younger illness like flu or if I went on too a strict a diet ( I was never underweight so not anorexia just a fad diet type thing) used to send them off course especially as I got older

Woodpecker22 · 06/04/2021 07:34

Mine has completely stopped after having covid in December. No other long term effects though that I know of.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 06/04/2021 07:37

Not me but I've seen lots of other threads about this. Do a search, they should be pretty easy to find

rubydoobydoo · 06/04/2021 07:38

I've just had my second Pfizer jab (first was in January) and no changes at all. I'm 42.
