Just thinking we started vaccinating in December, are we going to start all over again this winter do you think, it's going to be a heck of a task to start all over again

@Totallyworthit

That interesting *@Boph* do you get the monthly results or not?
Yes I do get results. I posted on another thread that I tested negative for vaccine antibodies 6 weeks after my first jab. Then positive at 10 weeks, so for me at least it took much longer than the 2 to 3 weeks to be effective.

@ConeHat

If its like the flu shots, then I dont have them religiously every year. In normal times I only get them every two years as I figure there cant be that many dangerous mutations each year. I guess it will all settle out in time. I'm due my second dose in May so I wont be rushing out for a 2021 booster ( disclaimer- I have had covid so it would need to be several mutations away to make me seriously ill)
The new Brazilian variant seems to be happily reinfecting people in droves in Brazil just as much as the first variant did. If either vaccine and/or booster isn't effective against it we will be back to square 1. Chile has vaccinated more people than the U.K. and they are in the middle of a HUGE 3rd wave. No idea if it's the Brazilian variant or whatever was floating around first. Chris Whitty referred to it today as a lesson in opening up too fast and that was just domestically.

Good you tested positive finally @Boph I hope they are long lasting

I think it will depend on what variants start to take hold here and in other countries and if the boosters are proven effective over them, say for example the P1 which can evade current vaccines. If P1 becomes an issue then we essentially restart the whole thing again including lockdowns. We’ll have more data on reinfection and what that could look like by this point too.
