What do you think it is on a scale of 1-10? 1 being it's not happening and 10 meaning pack your bags!?

(We have to confirm and pay by early June Confused)

@EileenGC

Thanks. Not just the cost, it’s the explaining to work that I can’t come back in! Not sure how that would go down.

I need to pay the balance on my holiday next month and am still none the wiser!

OpheliasCrayon · 06/04/2021 05:59

I wouldn't bother. Can't see it being relaxing or nice to look forward to with the rules changing every second with no warning. We're booking something in the uk which doesn't rely on crossing borders!!

Could go either way so only fair guess is a 5 or 6.

Whether it'll be restriction-free is another question.

beginningoftheend · 06/04/2021 06:04

Personally if I had an option to cancel/postpone I would.

Racoonworld · 06/04/2021 07:55

10 if you can quarantine after and afford the tests needed. 4 if you can’t and need quarantine free travel.

@HCHY4

Does anyone know what would happen if you test positive before flying back? I am reading that tests will be required before travel and before returning. If positive I assume that you would have to quarantine in a hotel in your destination at your own cost. Is this the case? Presumably they would want full tests too which I believe will add around £70 to each person cost there and back so £500 plus for a family of four? Il getting the feeling it may be more hassle and cost than it’s worth.
You get good travel insurance which specifically includes covering this. Or you have to pay yourself. And yes likely you’ll need at least one test each which you’ll need to pay for.

I’d think 5-6
Have good travel insurance and a back up plan. We’re not expecting to be able to get put to our boat in France at all this year.

France is in a completely different mess to Spain tbh at the moment. Spain has had a semi lockdown since Xmas (not as tough as the British one or last years) but France hasn’t done anything and is seeing the wave that Spain had a few months ago

Just remember some hotels won't take you if you test positive so you may have to find an alternative place to stay.
