Anti inflammatory mess before appointment

I just came across something online and someone was recommending not to take an anti inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen before vaccine appointment because it may interfere with the body to mount a good response.

I got 2 doses of pfizer and I never knew this. The first appointment, I didn't take any medicine until well after my vaccine because the arm was sore. In preparation for the second dose I took an ibuprofen tablet on the morning of the second dose of vaccine - because I was anticipating another sore arm.

I didn't have much side effects from the second dose. My temperature was slightly raised for a day but that was it.

Should I be worried now? I am still following all of the public health guidelines because the people around me are not vaccinated and I want to help and protect others as much as I can. I'm in an eu country by the way and the vaccine rollout is very slow.

Anti inflammatory has not been shown to have any effect on producing antibodies don’t worry

I wouldn't worry. If anti inflamatories had any meaningful negative effect on vaccine efficacy, they'd tell you not to take them. Some people are on anti inflamatories permanently.

@Greengrassonhighroad - I just came across something online

Best to read the official guidance on the Pfizer vaccine rather than stuff you might come across randomly online...

There was a concern about anti-inflamatories early on (around March last year) but it didn't take long for it to be debunked.

There are viruses like chicken pox where they are not suitable so it was a reasonable possibility to investigate, but no issue has been identified.

What's done is done anyway, you took them, your vaccines have gone well. Job done, no need to worry as there is nothing you can change.
