Vaccine adverse reaction data

Can anyone tell me are these adverse reactions self reported? If looking at the heart attacks for example how would you know if those people had advanced heart disease anyway and would have had a heart attack just after the vaccine or are they listed because it is thought the heart attacks were caused by the vaccine? I understand the yellow card scheme is self reported so it’s the analysis print I’m looking at. Is that just an extrapolation of the yellow card data? www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-vaccine-adverse-reactions I’m looking for someone who knows for sure not opinions or anti or pro vax bunfights if that’s possible. I’m asking because I already have covid antibodies and have also had a serious previous adverse reaction to another vaccine so the risk/ benefit for me isn’t as obvious as it is for most. I will discuss with my GP but I would like to understand this data if possible first. Thanks

No the reports do not mean the adverse event was connected to the vaccine, just that the event occurred after receiving the vaccine.

The reports can be from health care workers, the person themselves or someone else connected with their care.

It is thought only 1 in 10 adverse events are reported.

1 person can report multiple reactions, so can account for a few of the events int he print out. Therefore just because you might see 26,000 reactions, it does not mean they are for 26,000 individuals.

It's a summary of reports filed under the Yellow Card scheme; you can self report through the scheme (there is a website) or others can do it for you (such as health professionals).

So it is essentially a summary of all "this happened after my injection" reported events, with no causal effect proven - for example, several people appear to have reported "having a covid jab" as a side effect!
