Hi all
Does anyone know what this means for personal mixing please?

I've noticed some MNers saying that other European countries haven't stopped home visits as much as England, so just wondered.

This is from earlier in March (I haven't found the version updated with today's announcement on schools) but it'll give you some idea

www.gouvernement.fr/en/coronavirus-covid-19

Like that, but stricter.

Not mixing indoors in homes is an advisory but not against the law. Some EU laws prohibit criminalising gatherings in your own home. The UK is one of if not the only country where this has been against the law.

Wallywobbles · 31/03/2021 22:52

Be where you are going for confinement by Saturday 7pm. Home schooling for the next 3 weeks then all schools on 2 week break instead of staggered.

Teleworking where possible.

10kms limit around home for travel.

Shops shut.

Vaccinations for the over 60s from 15 April.
Over 50s from 15 May.

Oh that's interesting, thanks

So they don't have to worry that someone will call the police if they have tea with a neighbour? Interesting.

Wally I don't speak French, as the song says 😂
But thank you.

Thé French gouvernement does not have the power to interfere in private family life, including the home. Throughout this whole thing, you can invite 100 people to your château for a cup of tea if you want. The govt can only recommend - and even that has been much more generous compared to the U.K. - up to 6 adults or 10 in totals including children. French people put a huge amount of value on family meals especially: that’s why our «lockdown» essential shops include florists, chocolatier and fromagerie all staying open 🙄. Last night Macron asked us not to have the usual big Easter gatherings, but he can only ask.

LaChatte · 01/04/2021 06:56

They can't prevent social mixing in private homes but it is obviously strongly discouraged, and you can't go more than 10k from your house anyway (30k to shop, for which you need to fill out a form stating your reasons for being out).

In public spaces you get fined if there's more than 6 people including kids.

Curfew for all from 19h.

All schools shut next week with distance learning for one week then 2 weeks holiday for everyone (usually staggered), then primaries go back physically while middle and high have another week distance learning (some mention of further measures when this happens, probably half classes).

zzzebra · 01/04/2021 07:09

Interestingly I believe their list of essential shops that can remain open is much longer that ours and includes; book shops, music shops, hairdressers, florists, chocolate shops, computer shops, & fabric shops.

Nurseries are closed as well as schools though.

Mummyoflittledragon · 01/04/2021 07:35

@LaChatte
No more than 6 out together. What happens if you have more than 4 kids and go out for a walk as a family?

AnguaResurgam · 01/04/2021 07:39

a) you argue it out with a gendarme

b) prove you are one family (you need paperwork for all sorts of stuff to show why you are doing something, and why it should be allowed)

LaChatte · 01/04/2021 07:54

Large families are exempt, but it means that if they all want to go out then they all have to be from the same household.

Actually I just realised
D'oh

The travel limit stops people going to see each other unless you're very close by.

Zzebra That’s my idea of essential shops as well.

Boulshired · 01/04/2021 22:19

Bad numbers for France again tonight, over 50,000 new cases. Hopefully the numbers will stop the mixing of households.

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 02/04/2021 07:51

@zzzebra I expect many people would agree with the French about chocolate being an essential!!

True, I 100% agree with bookshops and chocolate shops being essential!

Stratfordplace · 02/04/2021 19:59

And florists and hairdressers
