Stay at home order lifting means just that doesn't it?

My understanding is that the stay at home order is lifting on Monday....that means we can go outside of our 'local area' now doesn't it?
I'm thinking:

  • travel 30 mins to see family in the garden
  • 45 mins in the car to a NT place
That sort of thing is ok?

Or are we still supposed to 'stay local' and going far afield is frowned upon.....

Stay local is still guidance until April 12th but not law do you cannot be fined. I travel 30 minutes to my daughters nursery 4x a week so travelling around is pretty normal to me & we travel 30 mins to local reservoirs & parks regularly 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’d go wild, enjoy Easter ☺️

But if people want to stick to the guidance, there isn’t long between 29th March & 12th April when stay local is fully lifted!

What does stay local even mean anyway?!!

There's a place nearby that's opening, gardens sort of place, that says stay local is a 25 mile radius!

I'm fairly sure the current guidance actually states that you can drive for exercise but to try to stay in your local area (it is in the travel section, not the exercise section).

So how can it still say stay local and be more relaxed?

If you can meet 6 people but need to stay local, that is very discriminatory against people whose family don't live local.

Plus I believe the new stay local guidance now has 'if you can' - well I can't since my family don't live local.

We will be going to NT places up to about 40 miles away as they are our nearest, DH has a running event booked 40-50 miles away.
