Travelling to Spain to see 2 year old son

Asking on behalf of a friend....what evidence/ documentation should she take in this instance to avoid being fined for travelling?

It's been a very hard situation for her - she is Spanish but just got citizenship for the UK. She left her son with her parents in Spain over new year with the intention of flying to collect him in January, only of course all the restrictions kicked in.

Her work have now agreed she can travel to Spain to do her job there to be with her son (this is an allowance for her, so she's not going there on business).

Does she need to carry anything with her to prove her situation so she doesn't get fined for travelling. Is a letter from her parents sufficient?

Doubt it would be needed, but I would take a copy of son’s birth certificate and evidence of his previous one way ticket and her previous return ticket. That should be more than enough if queried.

Does she have dual citizenship if so use her Spanish passport to fly out. Taking documentation that confirms how long she is staying and that she's working plus her son's birth certificate and proof he's in Spain would help. Her local mps office might be a good option to get a letter from.

I suspect problem would manifest on her return, showing that she went out there to take care of a family member not for a jolly. This problem may not exist in 6 months though, if rules change.

Many thanks - I have fed these ideas back to her so hopefully she will cover a few bases and anticipate and be prepared for a potential problem on return too.

Tell her not to stress too much, DH has still been travelling for work and they're not overly interested.
She needs to fill out the declaration before travelling but that should be adequate although she might feel less worried if she's got things like pictures, copies of emails etc that prove what she's saying.
Obviously a PCR test as well.

I’m sure there will be an exception in her case-travelling to provide care for somebody. As long as she has all of the documentation to prove it I doubt she’ll get in trouble.
