Rather than scaring people, on Twitter (which seems more left wing than right wing imo), it seems people are saying "fuck it" and "time
to move on." Outside today was visibly busier, despite the bad weather. Several of my friends have said the same.

I know AIBU to generalise the people I
follow on Twitter and my small friend group to the whole population, but has anyone else noticed this?

Nope. It’s my friends & my area as well. It was a lovely day today here & the park was busy at lunch time.. people walking, milling & chatting. My kids had a lovely hour playing with a few neighbours kids while we all had a grown up natter. We’ve been doing it through lockdown anyway to be fair but more so as it’s warmed up. Two of said neighbours are police officers (husband & wife).. least I know we’ve got inside friends if we got reported 😂

Everyone I know in real life, and I mean everyone I know reasonably well, has plans & holidays from April onwards. People have parties, picnics, travel to see family, kids events booked in. My kids & their kids will be starting back all their activities like swimming & football & gymnastics. My girl mates & I have booked a spa weekend away in August. People feel hopeful & positive. In real life, everyone I know is delighted with the vaccines & are looking forwards to seeing parents as safely as they’ll ever get at end March in the garden. Many have started using vaccinated grandparents for childcare again..

Deaths were 13 today. Always low on a Monday but they are dropping off a cliff. As are hospital admissions. Vaccines are working. Cases are holding steady around 5-6000 despite schools going back. Yet further evidence out today from the US that AZ provided 100% protection against death & serious illness in a study of 32,000 people. Incredible. Our most vulnerable are protected.

I think caution, yes. But hope, also yes. I’m not going to be locked up in my house if the vaccines are doing their job to protect the NHS & save lives. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Holmeh I completely agree. There's definitely more hope in real life than the media, which is always so negative. As usual, it's Boris using the media to gauge public reaction Grin

And it's lovely your kids got to play with the neighbours, it's been so hard for children.

Bad weather? Nope, another lovely day here, cheers.

Hardly surprising is it? If nothing works, what’s the point in doing anything. It’s like when you go on a diet, it’s human nature to think “fuck it” when you don’t see results

RedcurrantPuff · 23/03/2021 00:11

That’s not to say I think things aren’t working, the vaccines are great, but the constant doom does make you think wtaf is the point any more
