When can 6 people, all from different households, meet in a private garden?

I can't quite work it out. I can see that the rule of 6 applies outside from 29th March but that seems to be only 2 households?

It's 2 households or rule of 6

As part of step one, there will be further limited changes from 29 March, the week in which most schools will break up for Easter. Outdoor gatherings of either 6 people or 2 households will be allowed, providing greater flexibility for families to see each other. This includes in private gardens.

Isn't it 6 people OR two households of any size?

ChocOrange1 · 22/03/2021 11:33

Its up to 6 from different households, or any number from only 2 households.
A lot more sensible than rule of 6 only as some families have 6 or more members!

Does anyone know if under 5s are included or excluded from the rule of 6?!

wendz86 · 23/03/2021 19:20

Children are included but if two households you can have any number of children within those 2 houses .

So, after the 29th, your child could be invited to a birthday party in the garden, with 4 other children, and the birthday child. Ie 6 different children, from 6 households?

Oblomov - Not if an adult is there as well serving food, organising games etc. 6 in total.
But 5 children + 1 adult would be permitted in England from 29 March.
