Had AZ jab and keep passing out, anyone else?

Husband currently on phone to 111, just wondered if anyone else has had this. I felt shivery the night of the jab then yesterday I fainted twice and its just happened again. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this, I guess I want reassurance that this will pass as it’s really freaking me out.

That sounds unusual and you should see a GP if 111 don't refer you directly to the hospital. Possible that your blood pressure has been dropping. Could you be very dehydrated?

ChameleonClara · 19/03/2021 06:39

I hope 111 helped, you should see a doctor if passing out. This also wants recording as a post-vaccone effect.

Haphazardhacker · 19/03/2021 06:43

Hi guys, thanks for responding. They are getting a clinician to call back. All I did was sit up to take a drink and then got this odd sort of random memory in my brain and then next think I know husband is frantically call my name as I come round. It’s so scary :(

No, and I know at least a dozen people who have had AZ and one who has had Pfizer. But one person said they felt they had wobbly legs for about a week. I hope your okay!

HSHorror · 19/03/2021 08:01

Could it be pots ?
Or anaemia?

(Some have had pots after covid - i know its not a live vax vax etc)
Pots happens when you stand up

You can report it here: coronavirus-yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

Hope you feel better soon, my dad had about a week of flu symptoms after his.

Haphazardhacker · 19/03/2021 08:14

The ambulance lady has done all the tests and they are fine. I’ve got to take her print out to a+e as she wants me to have more tests. She’s concerned that before I black out I get this sort of deja vu feeling. My dad has epilepsy. I sort of want this to be jab related in that it will be transient hopefully but equally I don’t want people to stop having the jab so I don’t want to scare people.

Fingers crossed it's non-serious and temporary, whatever it is. Good luck at A&E.

Haphazardhacker · 19/03/2021 09:01

Thank you, will let you know how I get on. Just forcing some breakfast in (not really hungry) then going to a+e.

I've not had that. A friend and I had it yesterday and we both feel a bit feverish but lemsip helps. Hope you recover soon.

ittakes2 · 19/03/2021 12:36

I hope you feel better soon.
I felt light headed for a week after the jab to the point I didn't drive for that week for fear of passing out. Although I never actually passed out.
I did feel better after that week. I also had temp for 24hrs.

saracorona · 19/03/2021 14:05

Been thinking of you. Hope tests are negative and it's a blip brought on coincidently by the vaccine.

Haphazardhacker · 19/03/2021 17:16

Back home now. Everything came back fine, they did blood pressure, blood sugar, other bloods, ecg. The doctor has referred me to a neurologist, the one nurse was quite rude and dismissive when I said I’d had the jab Wednesday and so it may be related but the doctor said it could easily be related whether directly or more indirectly but yes equally could be coincidence, either way he wants me checked out by a neurologist. As I drive for a living this means I’m grounded until I get to see them :(

I fainted shortly after having mine a few hours ago and feel pretty faint still. Waiting for dh to finish work so i can go to bed. So interested to follow how you get on. Glad your tests came back well.

May17th · 19/03/2021 17:25

Following. I had my first jab last week. The only issue I had was a sore arm that lasted 6 days.

Haphazardhacker · 19/03/2021 17:48

Thanks everyone. I’ll keep you posted. Selfishly I sort of hope it’s been brought on by the jab as the doctor said if it has it will pass usually within 4 days, otherwise I’m looking at another non transient cause. He also said there could be a little something with me (slight epilepsy) that is prone to this sort of reaction to the jab and if that’s the case at least we will know for future reference to try a different one.

The Doc will be concerned with the Deja vu feeling. It is a common aura associated with epilepsy. However it does sound like a reaction to the vaccine, too coincidental!

FurrySlipperBoots · 19/03/2021 18:38

My mum had a weird thing with her vision one night shortly after having the vaccine. She didn't faint or anything but certainly felt really odd. I hope its just that for you too OP, and that you're back to normal soon!

MRex · 19/03/2021 20:44

Hopefully they'll confirm it was transient, whatever it was. Did they give you any idea about timelines?

I used to get patches of deja vu, which seemed for me to be linked to hypothyroidism issue. Odd that it's linked to epilepsy, I'd never heard that. (It can also occur in people who have no issues at all by the way, I just looked it up.)

SpringisSpinning · 19/03/2021 20:50

I'm not anti vax, my jab is booked but I'm so surprised by all these bizzare quirks and reactions!

BlackbirdOtto · 19/03/2021 20:58

A family member had confirmed Covid. She was passing out several times a day , so maybe connected. She recovered from Covid and no more passing out.

KurtWilde · 19/03/2021 21:13

I passed out when I had covid. I wasn't particularly ill with it more joint pain and headache, but the passing out was a worry. Only happened the once but worth mentioning as you've had the same post-vaccine.

Haphazardhacker · 20/03/2021 19:57

The a&e doctor said within 2 weeks I should be seen. If it happens again I am to contact my gp and get them to try speed it up. It’s the weird sort of pre warning deja vu feeling that is worrying me most as yes I’ve seen it’s linked to epilepsy. Will post on here once I get any more info.

Good luck. Keep us updated, or if you need a handhold at some point.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 20/03/2021 20:21

I had the deja vu thing a few years ago, and was urgently referred for epilepsy investigations. It wasn’t - it was a weird migraine issue, which totally passed within two months.

I also had a weird response to AZ and have been told I have to have Pfizer as a second dose, as I’m not compatible with AZ... but it’s proving pretty hard and our CCG has said that in all likelihood right now, I’ll have to have AZ and then be monitored in hospital. Just to prepare you! It was presented as quite an easy thing, having a different second dose, but it’s not how our system has been set up, and we’re very short on alternative jabs to AZ.

I hope you get to see neurology soon. My first apt was useless but the second one was great, and it was sorted really fast.
