Haven't seen a post about this but apologies if it's been done already but my friend sent me this last night.

You can collect or be sent lateral flow tests to test twice weekly

Thanks for starting this, I have a question as well.

I picked up lateral tests for us from our local walk in test centre, I went over to ask how to get them and they had them on site. They just asked how many people they were for and our surname then gave me a months worth.

The booklet says that we have to log every time one of us takes one though and while I am happy to take the test (we will alternate through the family so a different family member takes one each day), I really don't see why I need to inform anyone that it is negative. If any come back positive then obviously we will isolate and get the test confirmed.

The being monitored is putting me off as it feels like an infringement on my privacy.

Am I the only person who feels like this?

No I have similar thoughts. I guess it's so they compare vol of tests to % of positive

@littledrummergirl reporting the tests helps the government to get a true picture of the infection rate so they have a picture of how many people are testing positive in the context of how many tests are being taken.

Surely all they need then is the barcode number and positive or negative. They should know which part of the country they have sent them. That I would be happy to give them.
I still don't understand why they need to see specifically who took each test (again if negative).

Staff at our school are doing two tests per week and we have been told we have to report them, not only to the gov. website, but also to our HT.
I don't see why it is a pro lem to report a negative result, it takes a couple of minutes.
