Vaccine after csection

Hi, from the vaccine schedule I'll be due to have the covid vaccine around May/June time. I'm due to have a baby via csection in June. I dont want the vaccine while I'm pregnant but I'm eager to be vaccinated as soon as possible afterwards.

Does anyone know if you have to wait a certain amount of time after having a csection before having the vaccine? I cant find anything only about this. It's only just occured to me as my DDad had to wait 3 weeks after he had an operation to be able to have the vaccine.

I wasn't asked about recent pregnancy or surgery - only if I was currently pregnant, if I was feeling ill, if I'd had any other recent vaccinations, if I was allergic to anything and if I was on any blood thinning meds.

Thank you for responding LApprenti I'll assume I can have it straight after birth then and can always ask when booking.

You'll have to inject blood-thinning meds for (I think?) 10 days after the c section, so I would guess you won't be able to have it then. I would ask your midwife or GP.

Check but I don’t think the blood thinning meds will be a barrier to having it, although you’re likely to be fairly preoccupied over those days anyway!

Ah yes keep forgetting about the blood thinning injections 😷 I'll speak to my midwife at my next appointment and see if she knows. Thank you
