My Grandma has Covid and is in care home

As the title says really, she is in a care home, mid 80's, three people on her floor have it, so they've been testing daily. She feels fine at the moment which is good, but am conscious that we're in early days and she has had previous ICU hospital admissions for pneumonia, although not for a few years, so I'm trying not to worry, but wondered how long for symptoms to show if she gets them.

I had covid myself last month, but none of the typical symptoms, just headaches and tiredness and randomly a sore tongue.

I am sorry to hear that - such a worrying time for you.
When did she have her first vaccination? Is she over the 21 days since?

Sorry missed that information off 🤦 she had her first vaccination towards the end of January, the Pfeizer vaccination

Fingers crossed she only has it mildly then if she’s had the vaccine then the odds are in her favour.

Sorry to hear this. My gran is 78 and caught Covid the week she moved into her care home Sad. She was asymptomatic at the time she tested positive and other than feeling sick and sleeping a lot she was fine and recovered.

The fact she's had her first dose of the vaccine is a good thing as well. I hope she recovers well.

Thanks both. Glad your Gran recovered well from it Pivot

My 86 year old Gran-in-law had it back in January. Also in a care home. She was completely fine. Had some body aches & a couple days of bad headaches. She said the worst bit was being stuck in her room as she’s a super sociable lady 😄

Hopefully the jab will provide a good level of protection against hospitalisation for her 🙏🏼

My 97 year old dad tested positive two weeks running last may. Apart from being tireder than usual and off his food, he was fine

Thank you for the reassurance
