After effects of vaccine weeks later

bobsandbits · 14/03/2021 19:51

Is anyone still having any side effects from the vaccine weeks later?
4 weeks on from my 2nd dose my arm is extremely painful if I reach out.
I can't scratch my back, reach to the side or lift anything heavy as it's so painful.
I'm thinking of contacting my GP if it continues.

You should yellow card report as well .

bobsandbits · 15/03/2021 06:34

I have yellow card reported it and it looks like I'm the only one on here with side effects which is good.

Well you're not the only one with side effects, there's another thread about it. Unfortunately though all the people who don't have side effects don't post, so that thread has turned into a bit of a bunfight.

bobsandbits · 15/03/2021 07:48

It's turned into a bun fight, what's there to argue about ?
MN is a wonderful yet strange forum. Smile

If it's a bruising/pinching type pain it could be the needle hit a nerve or similar rather than what was actually in the injection. I had a similar pain from a tetanus vaccine a few years ago. It took a few months at least to stop hurting totally.

Worknoplay · 15/03/2021 09:53

I think people are getting irritated because there are loads of threads about this. Nearly every day in fact. Yes, people do get side effects for a while, 10-14 days, maybe more.

Blue565 · 15/03/2021 14:46

Ive still got this 6 months on from having a Flu Jab last year, it’s really annoying (I think it’s a muscle injury from the injection which is a risk)

Hobbitfeet32 · 15/03/2021 14:49

Yes I have the arm thing. 2 months post jab. Slightly worried about the next one in case it makes it worse. I have an appointment with the GP in case there is any actual damage done. Also reported via yellow card.

notrub · 15/03/2021 15:24

When people have sharp needles stuck in them, there's a chance it can do some damage - nothing that won't heal over time, but it can be very annoying short term.

I had a blood sample taken once and struggled to use that arm for about a month afterwards.

Hobbitfeet32 · 15/03/2021 15:53

Totally agree which is why I’ve waited until 8 weeks down the line. I have developed a rotator cuff injury. Could be nothing to do with the vaccine but it did start following the jab. I will still be having my second jab.

dividedwefall · 15/03/2021 16:21

I don't know why people are getting irritated about people posting their vaccine reactions and discussing it, even if it's everyday. Isn't that the point of a talk forum?

This is current affairs, very important and any and all discussion should be welcome. Suppressing discussion won't make the subject matter go away but it will drive people to other forums.

This is all really interesting.
Started to loose feeling in 3 fingers today now.
May just email my GP to check.

I have an issue with my left shoulder. Pfizer was in right arm but had flu jab in it in September. I can't remember when it started (definitely had it since Christmas) but if it has been since flu jab I assume I might have strained the muscle due to holding arm different due to it aching/ the needle hit a nerve or something. I expect it will heal eventually. That might be what has happened with you? I think it can happen after any vaccine and is more to do with the needle/ holding arm differently due to it aching.
I've had an issue with my other shoulder which is unrelated to the vaccine but at times when it hurt i felt it in my fingers. I think it's common when you hurt shoulder muscles to get feelings in the nerves in your hand/arm. Hope it feels better soon.

Thank you. This all makes sense. Lets hope it sorts itself out soon , I have gardening I want to do. Smile
