I have been furiously checking everyday the last few weeks to see if i could book my husbands vaccine (1yr below current age being offered) super excited for him to have it done. Children back at school and i just want him protected. However my mum and dad had theres earlier in the week dad got quite ill for 24hrs so ive googled his symptons to check it was normal 😌 i shouldnt have as this thing about blood clots popped up. Now my hubby has a family history of these (mum&uncle both died young). Now im panicking about him having the vaccine. Am i being silly?

There are plenty of families saying it is on the death certificates too when it shouldn't be.

@wildswimming they ask because if you are on blood thinners you may bleed a little more after the jab so may need to press down on the jab site for longer. That's the only reason

Yanbu

2 days after the vaccine I had several nosebleeds and bleeding from my gums - I've never once had a nosebleed in my life.

I have a family history of clotting issues so it was yellow carded and my gp got me in for tests.

It appears there is a very small but nonetheless recognised risk. They are aware of it which is why you get asked if you are on blood thinners.

I felt absolutely dreadful for a few days. However knowing all of the above I would still have it again.

A friend of ours had a blood clot in June. He is otherwise fit and healthy. It was suggested that the fact he'd tested positive for Covid a month earlier may have been connected.

DH told me about this alleged link with blood clots and the AZ vaccine yesterday. My instant reaction was to say that I would be interested to see the data on the health/age of those affected, whether they've previous tested positive for covid and what their risk factor for blood clots was without covid or the vaccine. It really is a tiny number of cases. I will be happy to have the AZ if that is what is available when I go for mine next week.

There are plenty of families saying it ISN'T on the death certificate when it should be.

My uncle was doing fine until he got covid - 30 days later he died. Covid wasn't put on the death certificate.
The ONLY statistic he got added to was the excess deaths one.

My doctor put me into group 6 because I have a blood clotting gene and there is a risk of blood clots in the lungs with long covid. I had the AZ a few weeks ago.

Exactly, announced in the news. The number of people we are being told have died from COVID, even if they have actually been struck by lightning.

Sigh not this idiocy being spouted again - do these covid deniers EVER SHUT THE UP??

There are 3 measures of deaths.

Death within 28 days of a +ve test - it isn't intended to be a perfectly accurate measure - it's meant to be QUICK, and it's there to measure TRENDS. And it's a good one FOR THIS PURPOSE! However, the odd person will die of something else, and many take a LOT longer than 28 days to die from covid, so it's quite hit and miss.

Covid on the death certificate - these days one of the best measures because the prevalence of testing means GP's have evidence to guide them in determining likely causes. Trouble is it takes time to prepare this data so by the time it arrives, it's too late to act on - this is useful as an historic record of what actually happened.

Excess deaths - this was a good measures in the first wave, and today it almost perfectly matches the numbers with covid on death certificate.

No measure is perfect, but the fact the latter two correlate extremely well is good evidence to suggest they are accurate, although on an individual level, some people will be included who shouldn't be, and some will be missed out who should be included.

Either you haven't read the conversation or YOU are the idiot. Or both.....

Less of the COVID denier label too.
