Do you need to go back to your health area for your vaccination?

I’m in 40s so guess my turn will be hopefully not be too long.

I am not currently where my GP is. Do I have to travel to that area for a vaccination?

Also a uni student I know is in Group 6 and has been back at family home since before Christmas. Will they have to go to GP or nearest hub near uni?
(Only just realised condition in Group 6, hasn’t had a letter but presumably letter sitting in their halls of residence)

When you book through the hubs you put in your postcode and it brings up the centres in order of distance, I guess you could put in any postcode to bring up a list of hubs where you are, it just said postcode. You don't need a letter just your NHS no. and date of birth and to be in eligible age group iirc. I guess if your GP isn't local you will need to use the hub.

When you book on the NHS website it asks for your postcode, then asks the postcode of where you want your vaccine, then you get offered venues there, like near work etc.

I read something about this recently and if your appointment letter or phone call comes via your registered GP then it'll be local to them.

Noted it, as DD on waiting list for operation and had her GP transferred back here, (rather than uni address 600 miles away) as she wants to recover here.
