Vaccine speed defined by GP or local authority?

I live in one local authority but GP is in another. I know there seems to be a big disparity between speed with which people are being called up. Does it depend on home address or GP address? Or is it not that simple?

Ours was by GP practice, one practice did 3 Saturday clinics and did their entire groups 1-4 in 3 days - it was an incredible effort! (Warwickshire)

From what I can make out LA’s and GP’s are managing separate lists from the same data (if that makes any sense).

My DF has been eligible for a month but due to various issues there has been problems trying to get him booked in through the website/nationally because their centres are inaccessible to him. There was a closer centre that I knew was vaccinating but 119 couldn’t help as they were managing their own list and no one seemed to know how to contact them directly. Now his local surgery have been given the go ahead he’s booked in directly through the GP.

I presume that your eligibility will depend on your own personal health history and stock of vaccine locally. Records are released as eligible as and when stock levels allow from what I can make out.

Are you expecting to be eligible soon? I would keep an eye on whether the main NHS site allows you to book or not as when your record is marked as eligible it will possibly update quicker there than waiting for a letter to come through from whoever is coordinating your area.

The national booking website becomes available to everyone in England in a particular age group at the same time - currently everyone 55+ can book this way. Though of course it will depend where/how soon appointments are available for your area. If your area is ahead of this, so already calling under 55s, then I think it will be based on your GP surgery as they are generally doing them either as an individual practice or group of practices snd so calling their own registered patients.
