How safe are the vaccine centres?

I’ve had a text this morning to book my Covid vaccine (group 6)
My husband is having his tomorrow (he’s 41 but our area are now onto the over 40’s)

I’m so worried about my husband catching Covid at the vaccination centre and passing it to me before my vaccine.

I’m 35 and have high BMI & Asthma!

Mine felt very safe. Socially distanced with volunteers telling people where to go. Chairs sanitised before you sit in them.

Very.

I got mine in January (work related) I have a high BMI and health anxiety so was also concerned but everyone was well distanced, people invited by appointment only so no crowded waiting areas, vaccinators were not mixing amongst cubicles and everyone was partitioned by screens even in the waiting bays afterwards.

We were all socially distanced, had temp taken on arrival, and had to use gel, the pens we used to sign disclaimers were sanitized between each person. And only people with surgical or FFP2 etc were allowed in. The medical staff were in full white hazmat gear.

If mine was any indication then very safe.

Masks to be worn, sanitise as you enter, only set amount allowed to wait in building itself, 2m rule enforced, chairs and tables santised between each use.

Over 40's! Where are you?

Yup! England.

He called the GP to check as he wasn’t sure why he’d had the text.
They told him they’re working with all local surgeries and vaccine centres and they’re flying through people so are contacting people by age.

He’s all booked in for tomorrow. He got his text before me and I’m group 6!!

Very safe. Strict social distancing with people spread out in designated seating, a lot of sanitizing of furniture and I was in and out of the building in record time.

I found it reasonably safe. The only thing I would have liked was some ventilation - there was literally none, not a single window open.

There was some rather loose mask wearing, but I think the staff at the vaccination sites have to take regular LFTs so I felt reassured by that.

Otherwise, I didn't have to sign anything or touch anything except door handles. Even the hand sanitiser had a person dispensing it for us!

As a rather anxious person, I washed all my clothes on return home and had a shower. But I am CV and a carer for a CEV so I can allow myself a little overreaction to risk!

That's amazing OP, really got fingers and toes crossed this'll be the NE England soon!

Ours felt really safe, doors propped open - everyone in the building was wearing masks. Gel was squeezed onto my hands by a volunteer. I took my gel with me for after I had put my leaflet and record card in my bag. The chairs in the waiting area were well spaced out. I sat right by the open door for the 15 minutes afterwards. Volunteers were wiping down the chairs after people left.
