If you have already had covid...

If you have already had Covid, are you still following all the guidance and lockdown rules?
I've had it and admit to not sanitizing my hands as much as before but i have friends who have had it and regularly mix bubbles and go in and out of each other's homes. When I decline their invites they just look at me like I'm mad and tell me I've had it and will be ok. There is obviously no concerns regarding other variants.
And don't get me started on my Dad, he's in his 80's and had the neighbours in for a cup of tea the other day. How serious are you taking Covid these days?

I'm still being careful and following rules.

Not because I'm particularly personally worried about my health (had it last March and was quite unwell for 2 months but not seriously and had first vaccine).

But because I work in education. I've seen how it travels like a flea on a pogo stick and don't want to be the one responsible for infecting someone vulnerable or who has a bad outcome.

I'll relax what I do as the rules relax.

I had covid almost a year ago and it was pretty bad. I've had more debilitating flu, but never before had breathing issues and loss of smell/taste. Anyhow, I wrote to Pfizer to ask if there was any benefit in me having the jab if I've already had covid, and they replied to say that the jab simply provokes "a natural immune response"...which I interpreted as no better than having had the actual virus. In that sense, I feel as protected as anyone who has been vaccinated, however I am still cautious. I'm not washing shopping, but definitely washing hands a lot and trying not to touch my face when out. Until we know whether having had one strain (whether from virus or vaccine) protects against other strains it's better to err on the side of caution.

Yes, because I could get reinfected and/or pass it on.

I had Covid just before New Year and my first jab a couple of weeks ago.

I am still following the rules, and will continue to do so. However, in contrast to last summer, once meeting up is allowed and coffee shops are open, I will be taking advantage.

I’m still following the rules but maybe not as stringently, like yourself OP. I’m certainly feeling way less stressed than before.
Not looking forward to getting the vaccine though as I’ve heard those who have had covid are more likely to have a strong reaction.

I had covid at xmas and it was nothing. Sore throat, temp for about 2 hours, very tired.

I wasnt fussed about catching it then, and I'm not fussed at the small possibility of catching it again.

I socially distance and wear a mask but it's mostly just for show. At home I have my friend visit, DH has his friend visit (although he's technically bubbled with us and has significant MH issues) and my mum visits.

I'm not going around licking people or anything.

Just counting down the days until I can throw masks on the bonfire
