Working with covid patients

Hi i know it's my choice!

Work on nhs wards. I had covid in December. Plus my first vaccine. I have been moved to another ward along with a few colleagues as we are medium risk.
I have mild asthma.
The question is my ward has still covid positive patients on it.
I have my second vaccine next week then a week annual leave, would you feel safe going back on my home ward.
Friends are saying I will be ok as I've had the virus, plus I would've had my second vaccine!
Would you feel safe?

I am not really sure there is any way you can be safer than having recently had covid plus 2 vaccines. Other than not going to work

You have had covid and survived. You are soon going to have your second vaccine. What are you afraid of? Was your experience with covid bad?

I'm pretty sure you'll get a more accurate medical opinion from the educated and experienced people you work with.

No I didn't get covid bad, but I do health anxiety so I do worry abit.
Have spoke to my manager she said it is my choice!!

Because it is such a new virus I think they can not advise you it really has to be our choice.
Our risk assessments say we shouldn't work with covid.
But a few of them has gone back since having covid.
I think right ok I'm having second vaccine next week surely I should be ok.
But there's the little niggle what say oh I dnt know!!!!
I must admit theses patients have no symptoms but because they have tested positive they remain on a red ward

Thank you fir your replies
I just need a bit of reassurance

Health anxiety sucks. The good thing is that your manager has said it is your choice. So at least you know you can decide against it if your anxiety gets too much closer to the time.

In the meantime though, maybe try not to think about it too much and just allow yourself to see how you feel closer to the time instead of letting it run circle's around your head.

@TheChip

Thank you so much for your reply
I think you're right, I think I am over thinking things and worrying too much about it, yep I'm going to take each day as it comes.
