When did you do the swab? Those results are out of date - reported on 24th December.

I did it a while ago and I got this from my gp in janurary. I'm just still confused by it as she didn't explain it.

I got results on jan 1st saying both positive and inconclusive. Then my GP said it was positive. Its just confusing and I wanted to understand the actual test result.

I'm going back to work next week as a teacher, so if it is positive I won't feel that worried.

If your GP said it was positive then that means you've had covid. Sometimes they run a test twice if it's inconclusive.

Why didn’t you get another test at the time Confused

Rainbows321 · 27/02/2021 08:21

Looking at that alone I’d have said inconclusive and that you needed to do another one but that’s too late now. It’s frustrating not knowing either way. I’d go with what your GP said though. Assuming they know you and the circumstances around the swab at the time. Hope that helps. Good luck going back to school Flowers

@chanceswhatchances I was annoyed as it took so long to come back and just chose to isolate instead. In hindsight it was a silly idea.

@MRex okay thank you, that's
reassuring atleast, I don't (hopefully) have to worrying about getting really ill when schools return.

@Rainbows321 I took the test 6 days after sitting next to an infected person for 5 hours (support bubble, they tested positive the next day).

And thank you!

@Chocolatefanatic12345 ahh I can understand not getting another one then! We waited 8 days for results back in October, seemed rather pointless getting results after that long. Was it a home test kit by any chance? Ours was, but my dsis got one through the drive thru testing and had her results back in less than 24hrs. I was shocked by the time difference

ChancesWhatChances · 27/02/2021 08:31

Is there not an antibody test that can be done?

MRex · 27/02/2021 08:33

Inconclusive can be a very low result, meaning you'd had covid before and were almost over it. You might have been asymptomatic when you met your support bubble, or might have batted off the infection. Either way, good that you weren't unwell.

The guidance around distance, masks and getting a vaccine doesn't change regardless of whether you've had a previous infection or not, you still need to do the same things for now.

Chocolatefanatic12345 · 27/02/2021 08:38

@chanceswhatchances yes it was a home test, so annoying! I think I might get an antibody test just to see if I have them.

@mrex I know, I am in my twenties though so quite far down the list atm.
