Can you change vaccination centre?

My son is registered with the GP at home in England but has returned to university in Wales and has now been called for a vaccine at a centre close to home. Can he change and have his vaccine at a centre close to his uni address?

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but it could be worth calling 119 to ask them if he can swap. We are possibly going to have the opposite problem. DD is registered in her uni city but might be home by the time she's called.

Yes

Yes. Doesn't he just have to change the postcode he enters when he books?

Will this be an issue as he would then be trying to book in Wales who are on their own vaccination program?

I’d say that’s going to be difficult but not impossible. As a young person he must be called under the at risk group. Meaning he is on the local GP call and recall system for access not the national booking system.

He should contact the university GP service and ask them to put him on their at risk list as a temporary patient.

He also needs to consider his health needs and why even though he is at risk he isn’t registered with a GP where he lives. It won’t just vaccination that will be problem for him.

Yes - is he registered with a GP in Wales? He can temporarily register if not, and get a vaccine through them.
