Why are you fed up ?

PurpleHoodie · 26/02/2021 11:12

Uh huh.

I recommend getting off your phone/computer and getting out into nature and fresh air.

Seriously.

Take a walk around your area for the next two hours.

Breathe.

Leave all electronic devices behind.

Flossie44 · 26/02/2021 11:17

I feel the same. My dc is ECV. Is going back to school. Apparently lots of parents are allowing their children NOT to wear masks and NOT to do the covid testing as a breach of human rights.

For me..these measures help keep my dc alive!!

PurpleHoodie · 26/02/2021 11:23

Flossie Are you in the UK?*

De-register your offspring and homeschool them.

*Rhetorical

SpringisSpinning · 26/02/2021 11:30

I feel so deflated Flossie, I thought we had made a step forward at last.

Me too. I'm a teacher with cev status. Supposed to shield until the end of March. However was happy to go in to school as have had my first vaccine and thought we would all be wearing masks.

SpringisSpinning · 26/02/2021 11:41

Yes flumposie so many will be in your position, or trying to protect younger dc who have chest issues but wont get near a vaccine.

Going by email from school take up will be high it says medical exemption only

PurpleHoodie · 26/02/2021 11:45

Yes MarshaB.

But certain types of people don't like to let facts get in the way of a good drama.

PurpleHoodie · 26/02/2021 11:45

Or dramatic post on t'internet.

Spikeyball · 26/02/2021 11:47

Most will wear them. These are teenagers who want to fit in with everyone else. There are lots wandering around where I live wearing them even though there is no expectation of people wearing them outside.

PurpleHoodie · 26/02/2021 11:50

Very true Spikey.

SpringisSpinning · 26/02/2021 12:02

PurpleHoodie

do I know you?

why are your responses so strange?

I have just been told by a teacher that its not mandatory and I thought it was, I was expecting some hard evidence that it was or not. I have looked at the Gov website and I cannot find anything.

Purple you are clearly in a bad mood, why don't you step away from this and go and enjoy the spring sunshine today and crack on with calming down Smile

DDs secondary school has said face coverings are mandatory unless medically exempt. It seems sensible to me. Not heard any other parents saying otherwise.

Cannot stand this 'wearing a mask is against my human rights' bleating. Its about society, not you personally. Also, kids wearing a face covering in school gives the unions one less thing to kick off about.

Spikeyball · 26/02/2021 12:13

"where I am they definitely wont."

Why do you think that?

SpringisSpinning · 26/02/2021 12:14

Unanananana

This is what I mean - is it not the UK law now? I thought it was like masks in corridors....

is it down to individual schools?

OP posts:
SpringisSpinning · 26/02/2021 12:16

Spikeyball

Because they wouldn't wear them in corridors or public school spaces like they were supposed too.

The schools minister confirmed yesterday that both testing and wearing masks are optional. Some schools may choose to make it part of their own rules I suppose - wonder what would happen in that case if a parent challenged it in law?!

They may well challenge it but it would be months down the line before it wou!d go before any tribunal.

"Because they wouldn't wear them in corridors or public school spaces like they were supposed too."

Classrooms are different from public spaces and also they won't be off and on in the same way. Do you work with teenagers?

SpringisSpinning · 26/02/2021 12:33

spikey I know they will not wear masks in corridors nor the places around the school like loos or the canteen without constant reminding to do so.
