Ok so has anyone got any advice.
When I get my invite for the covid jab it will be one of the last ones as I've got to wait anyway my question is if I have the jab and then get pregnant would it be safe to get the second one or will I have to wait until I've had the baby, also wouldn't the effectiveness reduced by the time I have the second one.

Has anyone had the jab whilst pregnant any information would be great

Hope this helps, it's the NHS leaflet. It is currently recommended to wait until you have completed pregnancy, before being vaccinated, because the trial data isn't available to confirm it's safety. I'm sure you will understand that doesn't mean it isn't safe, just it's too early to be certain.

You might get the vac before September of course...

Good luck!!

They told me I couldn't get Pregnant until 3 weeks after my second jab which is in May

This is the RCOG link;

www.rcog.org.uk/en/guidelines-research-services/coronavirus-covid-19-pregnancy-and-womens-health/covid-19-vaccines-and-pregnancy/

I can’t find the page about trying to conceive but I’m sure I’ve read something on there about initially saying waiting two months after the second vaccine then saying no need to wait.

I am in the same position. Waiting but also hesitant as not sure how long the vaccine even works for and I’ve read about so many poor women ending up in comas or worse with covid whilst giving birth or late pregnancy.

I had pre eclampsia last time so I know I will be in and out more than the average person.

Hoping more data comes out soon!!

The consultant dr who gave me the vaccine (while I am pregnant, I am CEV), was 10 weeks pregnant and she had the first dose herself the week she conceived. It's fine.

Thank you, I think I'll just see what happens further down the line as it's looking like possible June for people like me to have the first one 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Personally, I would get the second jab and not disclose the pregnancy (if pregnant by then and if possible to hide). However if you don't want to do that just one jab should give good protection.

If you disclose it is unlikely you would be given the second jab. Clinical trials have started in pregnant women but they won't be reporting until much later (as they will be following the babies up for 10 months or so).

It is possible the Johnson and Johnson one shot jab will be used by June in which case no second jab would be needed
