Where to buy best masks for kids?

Any tips now they're going to be wearing them to school? My kids have some masks as they wearing them between classes and one of my children chose to wear them in class as well. Now that it's going to be mandatory, I want to make sure they have a good 'stock' of them. By 'best' I mean both as effective as possible and as 'manageable' as possible for kids. Are the disposable ones best? I hate the waste though. We have cloth but even with layers and a filter I'm not that convinced. Ear loops seem to be infinitely better than head ties. One of my children has a 'snood' type one that she can pull up over her face, but I'm not convinced it's the best either as it's only 2 layers of fabric and pulling it up and down is surely not ideal. Plus maybe warm now spring is coming? Help!

We have three layer ones in cotton from gap. They've been very good- wash and dry quickly. Not super good for my youngest who wears specs though- steam up after a bit (though that might improve once weather is warmer).

Adidas ones are good.

also interested in this. We already have cloth ones but there are clear ones which might help communication and the Cambridge company ones which have a good filter and are reusable. But expensive. My DC is happy wearing a mask but we could get ? better ones?

My DS prefers the ones from the co-op.

My son likes these ones and they have a pocket for a filter inside, I’ve put two filters inside for some extra protection. They come with the filter but will need replacing, got mine from Amazon.

My DD is 12 and has bad acne. She hates the idea of a mask in school as it will make her skin worse.
Anybody any experience with this or ideas to help?

ineedaholidaynow · 24/02/2021 13:22

@StarCourt I would like to know that too as DS's skin is not great at the moment

herecomesthsun · 24/02/2021 13:38

MY DS 12 does not have acne but does have eczema. He has silk masks from etsy which are gentle on his skin. I am wondering whether something a bit more substantial might be better though.

www.etsy.com/uk/shop/lindyloucrafts23 is where I got my kids masks from. Really well made, good choice of designs and you can have 2 or 3 layer, fixed ear loops or adjustable. I can't fault them. Someone on here recommended them Smile

Thatwaslulu · 25/02/2021 22:30

Thanks Tartan, just ordered some, the planet ones look cool, hope DD likes them, she's a science nerd

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 25/02/2021 22:50

I got some brilliant ones from etsy
Fairy Tales Fabric face masks

they offer them is sizes from 2 year old to adult - I found them brilliantly well made, several layers of fabric and some lovely fabric designs. Toggles so that they are easily adjustable.

Dunelm have more basic cotton ones in children's and adults sizes, £2 for a pack of 2.

Try a pure silk one - Etsy or amazon sell them; it’s breathable both for skin and for breathing.

My DS likes some from Home bargains - 3 for £3. They're soft on his face and not huge (he's got a fairly short face), he's also a glasses wearer and we've found them the best for not causing his glasses to steam up

grabamask.co.uk/

These are properly certified medical masks, they are used in health care, including in my industry. I buy them myself.

Better protection than cloth masks, but they are disposable.

Codswallop20 · 25/02/2021 23:25

btw, the grabamask.co.uk/ are for adults/secondary age, too big for little ones
