Vaccinations for 16 and 17 year olds?

I keep reading about all adults getting the jab by July, but does that include 16 and 17 year olds? I believe the Pfizer vaccine is approved for anyone 16 plus.

Would be great if 6th form students could be vaccinated.

I know they're currently testing the AstraZeneca one on younger people. Given Boris is apparently under pressure to consider a vaccine passport system, it'd be only right that younger people are offered the vaccine. Someone was also said in the news yesterday about scientists saying younger people really needed to be vaccinated as well. Also, there are vulnerable children and they've got a right to be protected. I think it'll come.

I raided this on a thread a few days ago. I assume 16-18 CEV are being offered the vaccine? And then CV 16-18? If I had a child in those categories I would certainly have booked an appointment with their GP or consultant to discuss.
It would be best if we have supply to offer all 16-18 year olds the jab early August or sooner if all other adults done. This would really help with exams next year and in a way, my personal view is that they should really be offered it sooner in time for the autumn start of term (2 doses).

I agree, but it may become unfair on the youngest in a year group. Aug borns arent 16 until exam results are out. Also they are then more likely to catch it than others and have time off or be ill. No real solution to that and hopefully the vax will be safe down to at least 5yo soon
