International travel question

Sorry, I have gone through the document the government published but cannot find the answer to this.

Did they mention whether quarantine will still be required after travelling abroad?

Or maybe it would depend on whether you’ve already been vaccinated?

Dying to go and see my family on the May half term, but couldn’t take my daughter if it means she’ll have to miss school when we return.

Thanks!

I was wondering this too ...

They have said international travel will be reviewed on 12 April.
So no answers till then really.
Although travel companies are lobbying for answers earlier.

@minipie, Thanks a lot.

Fingers crossed, both my husband and I should have had the first dose by then.

It doesn’t say anywhere. I’m hoping that it will just be a negative test needed if anything by that point.

That doesn’t mean international travel will be allowed from 12 April... Very unlikely as the industry needs a lot of notice to gear up. More like they will announce by 12 April whether summer travel is allowed, and under what conditions.

We’ve booked some flights for October half term. Hoping there’s a good chance we’ll be free to travel by then without quarantine. 🤞

Surely after all the sacrifices and waiting it would be reckless to suddenly allow unrestricted travel or lift current restrictions? I thought there was finally a connection understood between unfettered movement and arrival and spread of new variants. But maybe more rigorous and reliable testing processes will be in place and that will make a difference to managing a never-ending spiral of new variants....
