Would this be unreasonable

I live in a rural area with lots of lovely walks, but the footpaths are being ruined both by the sheer number of locals using them and people coming from further afield. They've turned into quagmire, been widened from single tracks to 6ft across (and this is in farmers fields as well as through the woods). With a lot of searching I have managed to find a couple of routes which the majority haven't discovered yet, which sorry I'm not sharing).

Would it be unreasonable for me to take a 5min train journey, still within my district, to an area that is less likely to have had quite so many visitors and run back from there? Technically it is still local, I'd probably be travelling a lot shorter distance than the people visiting where I live.

I'm waiting until tomorrow's announcement before I make my final decision.

Sorry but is this serious? You are an adult yet you need to come to a forum of strangers to check if you are ok to go on a 5 min train journey and are waiting for Boris to tell you if it’s ok tomorrow. Just use your own common sense to make the decision.

You can travel for exercise despite what a lot of people on here will say, we live in a small village so without driving out to parks, NT properties etc. we would have no where to walk that is suitable for a pram nor would we have anyone else to meet up with.

I'm a general rule follower but really?

I am autistic and really, really have to follow rules. And I'm really not sure it's within the rules, i think it is, I don't have a car so can't drive, so am I allowed to get the train? Am I at risk of being confronted by officials?

It’s fine. Remember our prime minister already took a longer trip to go out for exercise under these same restrictions.

We drive 20/25 minutes to a couple local country parks every weekend. So do a lot of people, the car park is always fully booked. And I assume no-one in that carpark is particularly local! I don’t feel I’m putting anyone at risk, both parks have extremely limited numbers & are enormous. You never go near anyone unless you queue up for a coffee!

My kids mental health trumps ‘staying local’. They are bloody miserable. So we take them to a place they can run & explore.
