Have you had the virus and/or the vaccination? Im looking for as much info as possible so that i am informed when my turn comes for the injection. I'm not in the uk. Im just trying to determine if the treatment has any side effects for Fibro suffers. Many thanks.

My mum has fibro and has had the vaccination with nothing more than a sore arm for 24 hours to show for it. She had the AZ.

Not me but my mum has Fibro and had the first dose of Pfizer vaccine just over a week ago.

She had very limited side effects - a heavy arm for a few hours and was super tired for a day or two. But that's it.

My grandmother has fibro and was fine after her vaccine, bar the usual sore arm. I believe she had the Oxford AZ vaccine.

I have fibro and had my jab on Thursday (AZ). Felt pretty crap Thursday night - running hot and cold and a bit fluey - then just felt like I had a hangover yesterday. Absolutely fine today.

Amongst my numerous conditions I too have severe fibromyalgia, I had the Astra Zeneca jab on Tuesday

I did have other reactions, temp, headache, coeliac symptoms but in relation to my fibromyalgia I did have a mild flair kick in after about 24 hours, 4 days on and it’s just about settling now

Just plan to take it easy for a few days, expect to sleep more and take your usual pain relief. Hopefully you’ll be fine

I have Fibromyalgia, as well as a lot of other conditions.

I had the Pfizer jab 3 weeks ago and have had no side effects whatsoever, not even a sore arm.

I have fibromyalgia & although I haven't had the vaccine I have had covid - it was not pleasant & flared up my pain majorly. I have never felt so unwell before in my life. I would recommend the short term flare & get the vaccine if offered Smile

I have fibro and have now had both doses of Pfizer.

After first one I had a mildly sore arm for around 12 hrs.

I’m currently in bed having had second dose on Thursday, was fine til Friday late afternoon when started to feel grim and have been in bed since feeling like I’m recovering from a bout of flu, heavy achy limbs, joint and bone pain, swollen and painful glands in neck and under arm.

On balance however, I’d rather this and the likelihood of side effects only lasting the predicted 48 or so hrs than getting covid, and I don’t think my fibro has had anything to do with causing the side effects as were all mentioned as possible ones to expect, and second dose is more likely to cause a stronger reaction.

Anecdotally, I’ve heard of far more people suffering worse side effects with AZ than Pfizer, and having volunteered in a number of vaccine clinics over past few weeks, I’ve seen 1000+ people vaccinated with Pfizer, and yet to see anyone have a bad reaction

I was so worried about having the vaccine in that the vaccine could inflame my fibro symptoms. With the positive responses I've had i expect that i might get some minor reaction: I can live with that. I will definitely have the vaccine because as its been quite rightly pointed out I would prefer to have short term side effects rather than full blown covid.

I was worried about my mum too who has fibro and is 74. She wasnt convinced having the vaccine was the right thing either but decided it was worth it to start doing things again. Shes had first dose of astra zenica and was mostly fine. Felt like she had a heavy cold for a couple of days but no temperature. Still able to go out and about and for long walks. My dad was pretty much the same and hes not got fibro. So shes pleased shes had it.

As another fibro sufferer I am pleased to read these reports and have a rough idea with to expect...of course, if I don't get these symptoms then it's a win-win but medical people I've asked so far didn't have any answers.

Vaccination starts in Aus tomorrow (Mon) with front line workers and aged/nursing home residents, my age group is next in line and predicated to be approx another month and from what I've read so far, we will get the Pfizer vaccine.

Imho, I think everyone should have it otherwise life will 'never' return to what we once knew as 'normal'.
