When do you think TV and film will adapt?

This might sound like a really odd question so please bear with me! (I don't watch any soaps or terrestrial tv so maybe some already has?)

Basically have been binging a few netflix shows lately e.g. Emily in Paris and have suddenly thought when will covid life be incorporated? Or are these shows all going to pretend they're based before the end of 2019? Emily has a few more seasons to go for example. In many ways we want escapism, but also covid is real life now. Even with is "learning to live with it" it has reshaped and adapted out everyday lives. We'll still need to be more careful, make sure we get our vaccines and mask-wearing will probably be a big thing in many countries for some time. Life has changed so much. Are all these shows still running going to just pretend nothing has changed?
There will also be a point where people just go "this doesn't happen anymore" to so much stuff.

This Is Us, Grey’s Anatomy, Law and Order: SVU, Chicago Fire/Med/PD, FBI and FBI: Most Wanted all have Covid adaptations.

Oh I didn't know This is Us has incorporated covid. Since channel 4 binned it off, I've not managed to see it. Although to be perfectly honest, I'd rather TV just ignored Covid times. It's really boring.

I’ve thought this about children’s tv. I have a child who is struggling with not seeing anyone and I think it would help to have some children’s programmes where she can see others in the same boat, as currently every show she watches has children playing together and going off and having adventures as normal.

Chicago med is quite traumatic actually

Hollyoaks is bizarre at the moment. They've referenced lockdown and SD frequently gets referenced, they wear masks occasionally but the pub/restaurants are open. That's not what's bizarre though. They have strict social distancing rules so even characters who live together never get closer than 2m, never touch/kiss/hug. A couple renewed their vows the other day while social distancing and obviously couldn't kiss. I get why they have to do it but it's really jarring and weird to watch😂
