Had letter but can’t book online - anyone else??

A relative has had their letter through inviting them to go online to book a jab (dated 8 days ago!!) but when they try online it says they’re not eligible because they’re not 70+. They are 69.

Anyone else had this? And know how to get around it? The help on the booking website doesn’t seem to cover this happening??

Thanks all

I know a 65 year old who has had his first jab through his GP.

So I think it is area dependent how you are invited.

Keep trying.

Tiktokersmiracle · 12/02/2021 13:03

I would suggest calling GP
They may be able to help

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 12/02/2021 13:22

Try 119? Maybe they could help?

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 12/02/2021 13:23

Didn't have any problems - mine is CEV reasons rather than age, am in my 50s; I assumed the code number I'd been given tied into my records.

That's a thought - they opened up booking to anyone over 70 that hadn't had a letter this week. Are you certain that you/relative were going in the right portal - ie for invited with a code rather than the general mop up for anyone over 70 that hasn't had a letter yet?

Toocold · 12/02/2021 13:23

Have they actually tried to book it or just read the bit that says over 70’s only? It might be the NHS haven’t caught up admin wise or website wise.

Dogatetheleftovers · 12/02/2021 13:25

You can also book through 119.

MoirasRoses · 12/02/2021 13:44

Keep trying, make sure the data is correct. My Das is 67 & just booked this morning! No letter..

Itsabloodyeuphonium · 12/02/2021 13:48

I agree with what toocold has said. The front page says over 70s but click through that and try to book anyway. No reason what it’s shouldn’t work for anyone in cohorts 1-6

3littlewords · 12/02/2021 13:49

My DF has booked online today hes 67

toomanypillows · 12/02/2021 13:53

My Mum booked for this weekend, on Monday. She's 69 and she used the Swiftqueue system. She hasn't had a letter but they're on 65 and overs

www.nhs.uk/book-a-coronavirus-vaccination/do-you-have-an-nhs-number

Are they using this link to book (if in England)?

yippityboomdeboom · 12/02/2021 14:39

Thanks for the responses. Yes she is using that link, puts in NHS number etc and it spits out that she’s not eligible and can’t book.

Clearly it’s not just a problem for all under 70s! I wonder if it is a local issue as her area has not been performing well. I have told her to ring 119 (thanks for the sensible suggestion) and she has refused and said she will give online till Mon to work and then call...

Try without the NHS number

MinnieMD · 12/02/2021 15:44

Same situation here, 119 advised letters were sent prematurely and they’re not expecting 65+ to be able to book until Monday so to check back then.
Spoke to a lovely lady who confirmed they’ve been bombarded all day but unfortunately they can’t do anything about it until the system opens as they get the same message and there’s no manual override.

Abraxan · 12/02/2021 16:58

Mum and dad are 67y and today have booked for their first vaccines next week. No other CEV issues. Their area is already booking in group 5.

goose1964 · 12/02/2021 17:53

I had a text with a link in it from my doctor's, booked it immediately and I'm under 60

yippityboomdeboom · 12/02/2021 20:18

This evening the website has now updated to say 65+ can book and it has let her do it. Booked in for first thing Monday.
Thanks all
