I miss my family x

I know we're all in the same boat and I completely get it, my family is abroad as I came to England 10 years ago for university, stayed here because I met my hubby, we're settled here with a child. England is now my home and I love living here, don't get me wrong. We were planning on travelling to see them next week (we usually drive) which obviously isn't happening now, I'm pregnant due in May so won't see them until June/July (I imagine we should be able to travel then or they should be able to come over).

I'm just a little sad and have no actual reason to post.

I am grateful for being healthy, having enough food in the fridge, a lovely family but it's ok to be a little sad because of this situation I suppose. Sending hugs to everyone who is in a similar situation and misses their family xx

It must be really hard with them so far away, hopefully you can get to see them all soon. Vaccinations are on the rise so the future is looking far more hopeful Smile. I completely understand about being pregnant, my mum is vunerable so I've barely seen her since last year and I'm due in April, it's been so hard having no-one to ask about anything as this is my first. My husband has been really supportive but it's not the same as having the support of someone that's been through it.

I am in a similar situation because my family is abroad too and who knows when I can see them... It must be really hard being pregnant and not having them near. I hope you can visit in June.

@Frequentflier I hope you get to see your family late spring / summer! Even if you don't have children, it's tough for everyone. It's also for my son who just turned 2, he is their only grandchild and they adore him/ miss him and have already missed out on so many developmental milestones.

@Tarantallegra both my parents have had their two doses, so that's really good! They're only in their 50s but work in hospitals, so lucky! I get it, especially with your first, you want to share everything with your mum and just see each other! I hope by the time baby is out and I'm recovered, we have access to the vaccine (I'm in no high risk group and in my early 30s, so not sure when I'll receive my first dose).

@cheesebubble I do have kids, but they are grown, so don't change as much, and ofc easier to take care of in a lockdown. If I might make a tiny suggestion, stay off the coronavirus board. I realised I was spending too much time on here and starting completely unnecessary fights ( even when I did not mean to), simply because I am so anxious about my family overseas. I now go on to the good news board once a day, and try to not look at the doom mongering threads.
