I have not disappeared. A top Specialist informed us of this .
DS has post-thrombotic syndrome with the whole CV system
compromised and reduced bloodflow. Increasingly unable to walk
and will require surgery which is not guaranteed to work.
This condition is still rare but increasing among young people.

If your DS condition is so rare you need to stick to proper medical advice not MN

I was going to add DF is on warfarin and had his yesterday. But seeing your update, best step away from the replies so far!

Flowers for you and your DS, that has to be especially hard to cope with at the moment!

This sounds scary. I've never heard of it before what causes it?

I suppose one thing is as the vaccine takes hold the virus will deminish and there will be less risk to your ds. Also there's still work going on to develop vaccines and treatments so hang in there.

Littlegoth · 12/02/2021 12:07

Yes agreed. That sounds very painful.

Justpassingtime1 · 12/02/2021 13:24

The condition is normally among older people who have had one or more dvt. Sadly younger people are now getting it .
Basically after a DVT there can be damage to the veins etc usually
in the lower left leg.
Cause ? So-called sticky blood, sedentary life style …..
Babies can be tested for this now
Worst case they also get horrendous leg ulcers which do not go away

But yes thanks for your helpful replies Of course once most people
are vaccinated DS should in theory have less risk of catching it
but he will always have to take precautions like masks for the rest of
his life.

Not a contraindication.

@Helenluvsrob

Not a contraindication.
Presumably the DS’s specialist doctor knows more than you?
