Are gp’s surgeries finding the patients with over 40bmi to give the vaccine to?

Or are people just assuming this?
Does being overweight put you in a higher group- officially?
If you aren’t been to the gp for 10 years how would they know your weight?

You need to phone the GP and ask them to update your BMI if you know it is Over 40 which would put you in group 6.

My GP surgery sent a text survey to me, asking for my date of birth, weight and height. I can only assume they were checking that they had everyone's BMI correct for this reason.

However my husband is registered with the same GP and didn't get a text, and some people dont have a phone or arent signed up to the text service so I'm not sure how those would be contacted.

I think that's a great idea in theory but surely there would be some people who lied to get pushed up the list?

I’m curious how the gp’s surgeries filter that information. Age is one thing, but your bmi?
Last time I was officially weighed anywhere was when I was pregnant 14 yrs ago.

Iremember- I think health professionals could spot an obese person. In the ballpark of 40bmi. You wouldn’t begrudge someone with BMI 38.

I have a BMI over 40 but would be so embarrassed to ring my GP and say so. Think I will just wait.
