Husband not in the right place on the list?

My DH had cancer in the past and as a result is on long term steroids which can weaken his immune system. his parents are 61 and 62 and otherwise healthy. Therefore he should be above them on the list for vaccine calls. They belong to the same GP. His parents have both been given the first dose of the vaccine but radio silent on DH's.

Called the GP and they said it's set by the NHS and not them and they can't help.

What should we do?

@flaminYawn he's on 10mg just checked so should deff be in group 6 then

@neverforgetyourdreams yes it keeps saying only for 70+ which is weird as everyone I know being vaccinated now is 61-62.

It does vary from area to area. They definitely haven't reached the 60 - 65 age group in our area as my husband is in that group.

This thread is very worrying. About how to get someone changed when they are somehow in the wrong group.

Oblomov21 · 11/02/2021 21:04

I'm getting confused as to what group /age my area is currently vaccinating. They are very ahead of what is being done nationally. I think have finished with the 65's and are now onto the over 60's.

But have you actually put his details in and not just looked at the front page?

@neverforgetyourdreams yes tried filling it in but just says can't continue

My GP Surgery told me that I am in group 2 because I am a nurse. I AM NOT AND NEVER HAVE BEEN A NURSE. Just hoping to get it sorted out when it's my actual group's turn.

There is a specific medication that automatically codes anyone using it as a military veteran. That took some sorting out! And some other test or procedure that seems to code you as an Optician.

These have no relevance to the Covid vaccine appointments we are offering (we aren’t prioritising HCPs, they need to go via their employer) but the coding for such things is, shall we say, less than perfect.

Just a little up date he got a text from his gp today! My brother in laws sister also got hers (from the same area) also got hers today and she's also group 6 so. Hurrah!!!
